Happy Weekend......

 Last night we had a surprise birthday party

for a friend.....

 I tried my hand at a rainbow cake I had seen on pinterest

 Mimi and I decorated little dress cookies

 Happy 30th to Angie

The Cake Lady made her black forest cake

it was so good!

Marian spent her first night in her new home

lots to celebrate.....

Happy Wednesday.....its a rambling post!

 Hello,

I hope your all having a lovely week so far?

I received another lovely box from my sister-n-law,

we have been sending each other pick me up boxes,

swapping treasures!

 She sent me this lovely Anthropologie purse,

and some lovely linens...

 Check out my lovely thrifted teapot I found yesterday....

 All of our kids have been sick but Jeremy was the worst,

I took this picture of our animal whisperer.....

look at these sweethearts taking care of him!

 Mr. Milo, I can't make a move without him in my business...stinker!

Mimi and I made some paper flowers we had seen on 

Decor 8......

Fit and Healthy.....

 So the blog challenge for today was

Fit and Healthy

What do I do to stay in shape....

8 months ago I would have said walked

a little yoga here and there.

Lets face it, at 44 I have never been in shape.

But 8 months ago a friend invited me to try a workout with her

Its a combination of boot camp and cross fit.

I have to say at first I thought I would just die but this last month

I was able to do

50 jumping jacks

25 vertical jumps

25 push ups

50 lunges

and 50 squats

in exactly 6 minutes

I never would have thought any of this possible

I saw a comment on Pinterest

where I found these images

and it said

Strong is the new thin!

perfect

Now this is day 5 of this challenge and I must say I'm running out 

of steam.....

A typical day.....

 I won a lovely giveaway over at

Tales from Cuckoo land

 It arrived this morning.....

is just a perfect fit in my kitchen!

 The challenge today is what is your typical day

so here goes.....

I have to get up at 5am because the boys catch the bus around 6:40

then Mimi catches the bus around 8:00

then I usually pick up the house and head to

my workout.....but this morning I went out to the shop to help Phil

with some cabinets......

 I found these little gems today while grocery shopping...I love them!

Have any of you tried them?

 ran a few errands and 

then I got a call from our oldest he had the flu....

He wanted Top Ramen.

Picked up Mimi from school 

Made dinner and ran her to her soccer game

it was the jamboree, so it lasted 2 hours

long day

tired

What is your favorite thing about Spring? What plans do you have to enjoy it?

 Its easy to think of the negatives of living in Alaska in the spring when I woke

up to fresh snow falling gently down.....

but on the positive side its melting

warmer temperatures

waiting for the first signs of something green popping through.

and for about 2 weeks in my backyard I have lake front property.....

I do miss as you can see in the top picture

Spring in Seattle with all the lovely flowering shrubs

and tulip fields.....ahhhhhh!

My plans to enjoy Spring?

Patiently wait for the mud to dry and head out for a hike with the kids.

a dairy farm in Minnesota.

Back to Washington, then to Alaska

 and Back to Washington.

Met the love of my life and back to Alaska.....
