Sunday in Alaska....

 These wonderful pictures I'm sharing are from my friend Emma's

recent trip to Homer last weekend.

 and I thought that you would enjoy them as much as I did.

 Homer has always been one of my favorite places in Alaska.

I went on a field trip Friday to the pool with Mimi's class

and she had a friend spend the night. 

Oh my how busy they are from one project to another.

I'm excited on Saturday we found 2 more Barbie car for a quarter

so hopefully no more squabbles over Barbie getting her own car!!!

There are only 3 more days of school and Tuesday is my last field trip 

and I told Mimi's teacher I'll say my goodbyes because Wednesday

is my last day of freedom.....oh how shall I spend it!!

 Lately on my mind has been teapots.....

and so the search began.

 about a month ago

 for just the right one......

 I have been scouring the thrift shops

 and garage sales, along with our local stores.

 but none have made the cut so far.

 These are all welcome home with me though.

I think the search is the most fun

Thrift Treasures Part Two

 I loved these vanity jars that I found last Friday at a yard sale....

 Along with this little blue dish and travel case.......It had been my neighbors mothers

and knowing that it had been Marge's means even more to me.

 this sweet little head vase.

 I loved this tray, how cute is she!

 I found this candle holder, which I can see having a new life

in red, maybe blue!

 I picked this up for the cute white frame

 but the collage is kind of growing on me......

 I found this vintage dress for a $1

 This lovely old bucket.....

And last but not least this lovely milk glass hobnail dish

with this silver plated coffee container.....It looks so pretty with

my enamelware.

Today I went for a walk with a friend and we ran into moose, moose, more moose.

right now with the trees just starting to bud  they blend in so well.

They didn't give us any trouble I just wished I had brought my camera.

Part One of my thrifted treasures.....

 This last week I had the opportunity to stop at a few more garage sales

and thrift stores....so I will have to share them in 3 parts I think....

Just look at this little darling, He is so sweet!!!

 and we could not leave his friend for a quarter....

 I found stacks of vintage Golden books which I will share next

but I loved this colorful little elephant with his pink tail....

 as you can see I moved the couch from the living room out to the family room

as the old one was...well we said our goodbyes...

 I bought this great stool at a garage sale...the cover is green vinyl but its so torn up

I just tied some fabric over the top till I can look at it....great extra seating with kids!

I think it look so cheery out here, you know me and color

I can't ever have enough!

 We had a Momma moose show up this last week, sorry my picture is so blurry

she was on the move....

 And Miss Mimi is so excited to be able to ride her bike again

she loves to zip around until the bus comes, only 8 more days of school....

We had to take a picture of Cory for the graduation slide show

next year middle school...he is so excited!!

I wish Mom was....

Happy mid week.....

 Last night after a very busy day, I was watching Mimi ride her bike

in the yard and yes I was in my pajamas and to make it worse

a poncho when my neighbor lady pulled up and said Mimi we need to help Momma here 

with her fashion, then handed me a dozen roses for Mothers Day....they are so pretty!

Earlier on in the day we had an appt. with some people that I had never met before

and I had just come from getting my hair cut and colored..so you know feeling a little good

when she slammed me with congratulation on your new baby....

HELLO

THAT WAS A SPLASH OF COLD WATER!

So the flowers were the perfect ending and

 I learned suck in my tummy and do some sit ups!!!!

 Mimi got her ears pierced almost 6 weeks ago so

for her Friday can't come soon enough....everyday she plans

which pair will make there debut first.

 Cupcakes are in the lead so far.....

 I helped my neighbor Carol with her Garage sale on Friday and Saturday

so These 2 spoons came from her late mothers collection....I can't wait to share

the rest of my treasures from here.....one piece of furniture has caused me to re-do the 

family and living room seating.....I'll share that next too.

Again where did this week go.... 

 I took these photos a few days ago and they have grown even more

since then......they are going to be a mystery until later

because I forgot to mark what growing in which pot......oh well!

 Look no snow......soon to be green!

Its exciting after seeing so much snow for months on end!

 Coffee the only way to start ones day.....

I can't wait to show you my new Starbucks mug from lands far away!

I'm so ready to see flowers.....

the fresh veggies will be nice too!
