Warm News.....At 8 below.

For 12 years are main source of heat has been
a wood stove and this last week we finally.....
drum roll!
 received a furnace......
I'm so frost in our windows just a warm house!
Such a blessing, the best Christmas present ever!
So far so good Milo and Jerry have left both trees alone.....

The sunrise was beautiful this morning streaming through
the windows......
I still have a few things to get ready for Christmas...
How are you guys coming along with
your lists?

Take care,

  1. congrats on the furnace!!!!! AWESOME! i cannot imagine existing on wood alone thru your winters. i know the first 13 yrs of my life, we lived in an old home w/ a huge wood furnace in the basement in wisconsin, but still, that seems less harsh than alaska. :)

  2. Yay for your new furnace..congrats! You house looks so festive and welcoming.
I have more shopping to do but am finding that is coming through nicely for me. xo

  3. Way behind, trying not to panic, well not too much anyway! It's all looking good over there....and is that some vintage wallpaper I spy there!!! :) x

  4. It looks like your dog really likes the tree.
What a fabulous un through the wood!

And WARMTH at last with the new furnace.

Your whole place looks very cosy and very Christmaslike

  5. I'm soooo happy for you all!!! All snug in your house for the holidays!!! I wish I lived closer!!!! And a photo of my favorite kitchen, lol!!!!!
    Stay safe!
    Chris :o)

  6. So happy for you and your new furnace! What luxury now. I can't believe that I was sitting in that very kitchen having tea with you last summer. Your Christmas trees are gorgeous ----GOOD DOGS!!!!! Diane

  7. Your puppies are better behaved than our Olive! I'm wrapping presents but can't put them under the tree, which is constantly under attack.

Your home looks so wonderful and festive x

  8. I do wish some of the cold could come this way!!! I often look at the pictures of the snow and think life is not fair!!!!! Your home looks wonderful.

  9. list? lists? lists?
    nope; none. he he...!

and so this is brilliant {heat} from a new furnace!!!!
oh, you guys so deserve it!!!
    much love.
(all that crochet has kept me from renovating, true... tghhh).

  10. Yes, I'm on time this year…because I didn't work only study makes me so feeling free ;-) Your house is amazing and I how nice to hear that you'll be warm in the winter now!!!
    Have a nice x-mas-time Heidi!

  11. Your house looks beautiful, and wow two trees!
I'm almost done apart from a few presents, the delivering, a couple of cards and all the food shopping and cooking!! Oh dear not as far ahead as I thought!

  12. Hello Heidi,
Congratulations on the furnace. Your home looks beautiful and ready for the holidays.
    Big hug,

  13. I love your decorations, and your house looks so lovely and light. It's great that you can have a warm Christmas. Keeping up with chopping wood, cleaning a fire and getting it ready to light is so time consuming.
I don't have many things ready at all for Christmas, but I have a loooong list!

  14. Congratulations on your furnace Heidi! Love your tree! So very Heidi :-)

    Happy weekend!

  21. Dear Heidi,
Congratulations on your brand new furnace. So glad you have central heat. But I remember the days growing up, when all we had was a wood/coal stove. The heat from these stoves was wonderful. Cherished memories.
Wishing you and your family a beautiful Holiday Season.
